Are you a college, university club, slam venue, or other organization looking to book a poet and/or storyteller?

Joy Young is a performance and teaching spoken word artist based in Phoenix, AZ. Their performance works focuses on transgressing borders, both real and imagined, entering social justice topics through poetic personal narratives, and has been featured on Button Poetry and Everyday Feminism as well as on stages and in colleges and classrooms across the country.

Bringing Joy Young to campus will provide students with an excellent opportunity to connect with personal narratives through storytelling and poetry.  Sessions are designed to provide stress relief, engage audiences in meaningful dialogue about various self-advocacy issues, and allow space to learn how to better communicate individual needs with each other. Whether hiring Joy for performance and/or workshops, students and faculty can expect to experience models for building bridges and better understanding one another's humanity.
